Patrons rave about the selection of real ales, ciders, and perries, a highlight for any beer enthusiast. The refreshing lager and beautifully crafted ales come directly from the barrel, ensuring quality in every sip. Many appreciate the friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable staff, who are always eager to share insights about the drinks. The casual vibe makes it an excellent choice for an informal gathering with friends or after a day spent exploring Tewkesbury's historical sites. Additionally, the option for outdoor seating allows guests to soak in the quaint surroundings on pleasant days.

Most Disliked

Some guests may find the service functional but not particularly warm, which could be a minor turn-off for those seeking a more inviting experience. The menu lacks hot meals, offering only rolls or cobs, which might not satisfy everyone's appetite. This has led to feedback about wishing for a wider range of food options to complement the drinks. Limited table space can also be an issue during busy choir practices in the back room, affecting seating availability. Overall, while the experience is positive, these factors may require some patience from visitors.

Good beers, ciders and perries that will appeal to any real ale fan. Atmospheric little pub. Limited table seating when the choir is practicing in the back room. Service not the most welcoming, but functional. Enjoyed our couple of pints here.

If you like small down to basics pubs, look no further than The Cross House Tavern in tne heart of Tewkesbury, quality straight from the barrel beer & ciders in what can only be described as a real old school pub that has a feeling of a 1930 ealing film set. If you're hungry, there are ham or cheese cobs/rolls, no cooking smells to ruin the beer or atmosphere.

For anyone that loves real ale (proper beer) or cider, this is the place to go. It looks like a 'normal shop' from the outside and might even appear intimidating on entry but don't let that put you off because this place is a genuinely friendly pub with a TARDIS like interior ('2 back rooms') and remarkably knowledgeable and friendly staff (and 'regulars'. If you want a genuine pub with real beer and that's it this is worth a visit!

Martin is a fountain of knowledge. Last popped in here September 2015 and had a good time. If I remember correctly, this is one of the oldest buildings in the town. I had a taster on my most recent visit and settled for a very good light pale ale (see photo). If you appreciate real ales and cider and like historical buildings then give this one a try!

Very friendly small ale house located in the picturesque heart of Tewkesbury. Space was made for visiting strangers. The ale was served straight from the barrel and was in good condition. Lovely atmosphere.
